Congratulations on getting into UCL! We will be at Freshers’ Fair to let you sign up to get regular information on events, activities and debates by one of UCL’s oldest and largest societies.

Monday Night Debates – 4th October 2010

Our Monday Night Debates allow the UCL student body to witness politicians, journalists, academics and others debate topical issues. You also get the chance to question the debaters and offer your own opinions. These take place every Monday in term time and the first will be immediately following Freshers’ Week on Monday 4th October. The topic is to be University fees and finance. Motion and speakers tba.

Thursday Night Workshops – 7th October 2010

Will & Gus will be running workshops to help improve your ability to debate and engage in public speaking. We send teams all over the country and are always looking for new debaters. We also operate two IVs every year. The first workshop is on Thursday 7th October. The boys will be choosing novice teams to take part in the first IV of the year, the UCL President’s Cup, which takes place on Saturday 9th October!

Participents cannot have competed at university level before. This makes it ideal to introduce Freshers to IV tournaments, whether with schools debating experiance or not. £35 team registration and n-1 for judging applies.
